The Alliance was established in 1999 to encourage economic development through a partnership of the six local government authorities based in the region and key industry leaders.  

BWEA covers the sub-region of Bunbury Wellington (City of Bunbury and the Shires of Capel, Collie, Dardanup, Donnybrook/Balingup and Harvey) which is situated in the South West corner of Western Australia.

BWEA works co-operatively with members, local governments, industry, state and federal government and the region’s communities to enhance economic growth and development outcomes for the area.   

BWEA's PRIMARY AIM IS TO:

  • BUILD RELATIONSHIPS ACROSS THE REGION THAT CAN ENHANCE THE TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE
  • LOBBY GOVERNMENT TO ADEQUATELY FUND THE REGIONS INFRASTRUCTURE REQUIREMENTS

BWEA GOAL's 

- Promoting the Region as a place of living, visiting and investing.
- Generating a favourable regional climate for investment.
- Encouraging potential investment opportunities and developments.
- Liaison with industry on processing and manufacturing opportunities.
- Enhancing the tourism industry through marketing and promotion.
- Seeking expansion of tourism attraction and services in the Region.
- Ensuring State and Federal Authorities provide accurate and timely data.
- Monitoring community issues related to development and tourism.
- Encouraging a unified approach within the community.
